Legends & Legacy was started by a small but mighty group of women in 2007 with our inagural gala;
Legends & Legacy - Diva Hollywood Auction & Gala.  The following year the theme was A Night in Paris.  Our charity of choice for both years was Hospice Simcoe, helping their capital campaign raise much needed funds for a 10 bed residential hospice, providing an alternative setting for those living with a life-threatening illness.  We are pleased that we helped to raise close to $40,000 from our two events and that Hospice Simcoe opened their doors to their hospice in Spring 2009. 

The Gala is a one of a kind women’s only event.  From the initial greeting, to the fabulous décor, gourmet meal, live and silent auctions and exciting entertainment, we provide a night to remember.  As we celebrate we honour five women from the community who are leaving a Legacy in people’s lives. 

We are pleased to announce that for the years 2009 and 2010 our charity of choice was the Elizabeth Fry Society of Simcoe County. Helping to raise much needed funds for all the programs and services that E Fry provides for the community, including the Grocery Assistance Program (GAP) which feeds over 14,000 people in Simcoe County per year.

For 2011 and 2012, the group has decided to help Grandmothers & Grandothers (the Barrie Chapter of the Stephen Lewis Foundation - Grandmothers for Grandmothers) and Seniors Wish Association.  More details on these dedicated groups will be posted soon.
